Sweet Grass Dairy is building a new farm store inside an 1800s barn in Fredericktown.

The family-owned farm at 6049 Bryant Road plans to open the renovated space in early 2027. The project converts the timber-framed structure into a retail hub for pasture-raised products. The farm describes the new location as a destination for local food shoppers.

The store will sell meats, dairy, bread, and produce. All items will be locally sourced. A farm representative noted that consumers often worry about the safety of standard grocery items. They said, “We live in a time where it’s hard to trust the food you are buying at the grocery store.” The farm aims to provide an alternative for those who want to know exactly where their food comes from.

The new space includes amenities beyond basic grocery shopping. A full gelato shop will serve scoops to visitors. A back patio will provide outdoor seating. A natural playground is planned for children. An earthship greenhouse will allow the farm to grow tropical fruit year-round.

Walking trails will run through the farm’s pastures and gardens. These paths will let visitors see the land where their food is produced. The farm specializes in regenerative farming methods. The new store is designed to serve shoppers from nearby suburbs. Target areas include Polaris, Lewis Center, Powell, and Delaware.

The current farm store will stay open during construction. Sweet Grass Dairy confirmed that existing operations will continue while work proceeds on the barn. The farm hopes the new venue will become a gathering place for the surrounding community. The project is a major expansion for the business.
