Iarnród Éireann has scheduled major enabling work on the DART+ West project to begin Friday, October 30. Crews will lower track at two bridges between Hansfield and M3 Parkway. The work starts after the final service on Friday and runs through the first service on Monday, November 2.

No rail service will run between Clonsilla and M3 Parkway stations on Saturday and Sunday, October 31 and November 1. Bus transfers will operate between Clonsilla and Hansfield, Dunboyne, and M3 Parkway stations on a revised schedule.

Lowering the track at those bridges allows the overhead power lines required to run the DART+ fleet to be installed later. That avoids changing the height of road bridges that already cross the railway.

The DART+ West project is designed to raise service from 6 trains per hour in each direction to 12 per hour, subject to demand. Passenger capacity would go from 5,000 in 2019 to 13,200.

The plan also includes a new station at Spencer Dock, a DART depot west of Kilcock Station, and the closure of six level crossings.
