Australia has recalled veteran utility back Kurtley Beale for its upcoming Nations Championship matches in Britain. The 37-year-old replaces Hunter Paisami, who withdrew from the squad for personal reasons. Beale will join the Wallabies as they prepare for a series of Tests scheduled for early November.

Beale earned his final cap against Wales in Cardiff in 2021, bringing his career total to 95 appearances. He was named in the Wallabies squad in 2024, but an Achilles injury ended that season early. He has since played for the Western Force in Super Rugby Pacific and Super Rugby AUS.

Coach Les Kiss said Beale’s experience and versatility would be valuable to the team. “He has the versatility to play a number of positions across the backline,” Kiss said in a statement on Wednesday. Kiss added that Beale is in great form and is excited to contribute to the squad's environment.

Former Northampton Saints back James Ramm has also been added to the roster. Ramm had an impressive campaign with Northland in New Zealand’s provincial championship. He can play on the wing or at fullback and will join the Western Force next season. Scrumhalf Kalani Thomas will join the group after his Australia A commitments. Tate McDermott is expected to return home during November for the birth of his first child.

The Wallabies will meet England at Twickenham on November 8. They will then play further Tests against Scotland and Wales. The expanded squad includes 19 forwards and 16 backs. Harry Wilson will serve as captain. Other selected players include Allan Alaalatoa, Angus Bell, and Isaac Kailea in the forward pack, while Ben Donaldson, Carter Gordon, and Max Jorgensen round out the backline.
