A new private members club named Barkada House is scheduled to open in Columbus’s Discovery District in 2027. The venue will occupy a historic building in the neighborhood and will serve as a hub for food, music, film, and creative work. The club describes itself as a third place situated between home and work, offering members a consistent environment for daily activities.

The facility will span multiple floors with distinct amenities for different times of day. The ground floor will house a café and coffee bar, a hi-fi listening lounge containing a vinyl library, and a gallery wall. This level will also include a library and work floor equipped with open seating, group rooms, and phone rooms. Members can book six available studios by the hour, which include spaces for podcasting, broadcasting, and music post-production.

Dining options at Barkada House will feature a chef’s counter overlooking an open kitchen. The accompanying bar will focus on menus that prioritize nutritional value. The club will also provide private dining areas and host member-rate dinners. On the top floor, a gallery and salon located beneath the building’s skylights will host exhibition openings, talks, and other gatherings. A dedicated screening room will accommodate film salons and private screenings.

Krystopher Scott, the founder of the club, said there is a difference between bringing people together and building a place where they belong. He noted that Columbus has no shortage of talent, culture, or ambition. Scott stated he wants to create more spaces where those elements can come together naturally. He added that the team is building something intentional and is excited to share more of the journey.

The club will offer four annual membership tiers called Emerging, Social, House, and House + Studio. The Emerging tier is reserved for a limited number of members between the ages of 27 and 30. The House + Studio tier is designed for creators and includes 14 studio hours each year. Membership will be limited, and the club is currently inviting prospective members to express interest through its website before the opening.

Founding members will join the club prior to its full launch. The venue aims to allow members to work in the morning, book a studio in the afternoon, eat at the counter, and stay for evening listening sessions. The development of this space represents a new addition to the Discovery District’s cultural and commercial offerings.
