Liam Nolan of Galway has earned a DP World Tour card for the upcoming season. The achievement came after he posted a five-under-par 67 on Sunday at the Club de Golf Alcanada in Majorca, Spain.

Nolan’s final round finished ninth in the overall standings for the HotelPlanner Tour’s Grand Final. The top 15 finishers in the event received full tour cards for next year. He began Sunday’s play in tied 25th place following a 71 in the third round.

The Irishman started the final day with strong play, recording five birdies in his first seven holes despite a bogey on the second hole. He added two more birdies on the 13th and 15th holes. A bogey on the 17th hole did not change the final result.

Nolan said he felt pressure after his performance on Friday, wishing the weekend would pass. He described securing the card as a surreal moment, noting that he could relax for about a week before returning to work.

Kenny Fahey, the head coach at the Golf Ireland Academy, watched Nolan complete his round. Fahey said he was delighted for his player, noting that Nolan played proper golf and deserved the result. Nolan began working with Fahey at age 12.

Sean Nohilly, Nolan’s caddie, said the long year ended with emotions coming out on the 18th hole. He told Nolan to take in the good results and said the pair will celebrate with family members who attended many tournaments this year.

Nolan’s season included top 10 finishes at the Danish Golf Challenge, the Challenge de Espana, and Blot Play9. He won the Abu Dhabi Challenge in October, finishing tied-fifth at the Hainan Open the following week. Julien Sale of France won the Majorca event by four strokes over Hamish Brown of Denmark. The DP World Tour season begins on November 26 at the BMW Australian PGA Championship in Sydney.
