1:36 a.m. on October 31 marks the exact moment a man walked out of The R Bar Arena with a custom Blue Jackets hockey stick shotski. The item is now missing from the bar at 413 N. Front St. in the Arena District.
The R Bar Arena is a sports bar located near Nationwide Arena. Its signature serving vessel is not a traditional ski but a hockey stick fitted with multiple shot glasses. The bar posted security footage on Facebook on October 31 to identify the two people who took the prop.
In the video, a man reaches behind the bar counter to grab the shotski. A woman sits nearby and watches him. The man leaves the establishment wearing a costume that appears to be Frozone from The Incredibles movie. The woman follows him out shortly after he exits.
The R Bar asked followers to recognize the couple. “Anyone recognize this couple?? Hoser stole our fan favorite CBJ hockey stick shotski last night while his girlfriend played lookout. Would like to get it back today,” the bar wrote in the post. A third man appears in the footage watching the event unfold but does not stop the couple.
As of November 2, no one has claimed to recognize the individuals. The bar has not received the item back. The venue asked people with information to send a direct message or drop the shotski off at the leasing office. “Shoot us a direct message if you have any info or would like to drop the shotski off at the leasing office. Turned comments off as we’re pretty sure the culprit doesn’t want to come back into the bar after reading through them!” the bar stated.
The shotski remains unaccounted for. The bar continues to wait for the item to be returned.
