Lorraine Luckett, a 36-year-old from Wisconsin, was brought back to Nashville this week after police connected her to a series of thefts involving intoxicated men at downtown bars. She was initially arrested in her home state last week on 10 charges of theft and fraud related to these incidents in Tennessee. Metro Nashville Police indicate the pattern of crimes spans several trips to the city that began in 2024.

Investigators recently linked Luckett to a separate incident on June 22 where she allegedly impersonated a rideshare driver. The victim told authorities he was dropped off at a gas station on West End Avenue in the early morning. He believed the woman driving him was a legitimate service provider. He did not notice his phone and bank card were missing for several hours.

When the victim checked his bank statement, he found that his card had been used to withdraw $980 from a drive-through Wells Fargo ATM located next to the gas station. Metro Police surveillance footage identified Luckett's vehicle at the scene. The video shows her operating the ATM during the time of the withdrawals.

The case adds to a growing list of crimes involving fake rideshare drivers in Nashville. State legislators passed a law last year to criminalize this specific type of fraud. However, Luckett has not yet been charged under that new statute. She is currently booked into jail in Nashville pending further legal proceedings.
