Gardaí Arrest Driver After €296,000 Cannabis Seizure at Dublin Port

Revenue officers seized 21.2 kilograms of herbal cannabis from a vehicle at Dublin Port on Halloween. The estimated street value of the drugs is more than €296,000.

The seizure occurred during a routine profiling operation. Officers stopped and searched a vehicle that had recently arrived in Ireland from France. During the search, they found the cannabis concealed within the car.

Gardaí attached to Store Street Garda Station arrested the driver following the discovery. The man is currently being held as investigations into the suspected drug importation continue.

Revenue stated that the seizure is part of its ongoing cooperation with An Garda Síochána to combat organised crime groups. These groups are involved in the importation, sale, and distribution of illegal drugs across Ireland.

Investigators are working to determine the origin of the shipment, its intended destination, and the criminal networks linked to the case.
