Parkhead, Glasgow: Camilo Durán put Celtic ahead in the 18th minute, but Dundee United struck twice inside four minutes and the visitors left with a point after a 2-2 draw on Wednesday.
Durán collected the opener from seven yards after Kasper Hogh set him up from a Benjamin Nygren header across goal, which followed a Callum Osmand cross. It was his 11th goal of the season. Zac Sapsford then glanced a header from a Lyall Cameron cross past goalkeeper Sam Johnstone into the far corner in the 28th minute, and Neil Farrugia put Dundee United ahead three minutes later when his effort went in off Liam Scales after Bert Esselink met another Cameron free-kick.
Celtic pressed after the break. Martin O'Neill sent on Haissem Hassan and Jota for Hogh and Osmand to start the second half, and Jack Walton saved from Nygren and Jota before tipping a Hassan drive over the bar in the 60th minute. Jota curled in a right-footed cross from the left and Scales rose to head past Walton from eight yards in the 65th minute. Walton denied Mika Baur with his legs, and Johnstone pushed away Abdoulaye Yoro's breakaway strike in the 81st minute.
Dundee United arrived unbeaten in five games under Jim Goodwin. The club has not won at Celtic Park since December 1992, a run that continued. Farrugia made his first start of the season for Dundee United after moving from Shamrock Rovers, and Daniel Bennie went to the bench.
Celtic started unchanged. Scales headed wide in the fifth minute, and Michael Forbes headed off target from a Cameron free-kick before Durán scored. Johnstone stopped Jesse Randall's drive, and Nygren shot from the edge of the box as Celtic replied.
Celtic have taken nine wins and one defeat from their first 10 league fixtures. The club has lost three of three in the Europa League this season. Dundee United's second-half attacks were limited, with Yoro's late strike one of few chances before the final whistle.
