Celtic lost 2-0 at Falkirk on Sunday, suffering their sixth defeat in their last 10 matches. The visitors struggled with defensive errors and a high-volume performance from Falkirk goalkeeper Scott Bain, who made 10 saves.

Cameron Carter-Vickers contributed to the first goal in the third minute. The Celtic defender misjudged a long ball, allowing Ryan Strain to cross to Ethan Ross. Ross tapped the ball past Sam Johnstone before Strain injured himself and exited the match. Jack McMillan replaced Strain at right-back.

Falkirk extended their lead in the 38th minute. Owen Eames set up Scott Tanser, who ran onto the pass and shot past Johnstone to make it 2-0. This was Falkirk’s first victory over Celtic since 2007. The win moved Falkirk to fourth place in the Scottish Premiership after four consecutive victories.

Celtic managed several chances but lacked precision in front of goal. Kasper Hogh, who started the previous match, was dropped in favor of Camilo Duran. Hogh entered the game in the 65th minute but did not score, extending his goalless streak to 14 matches. Martin O’Neill also started Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and recalled Haissem Hassan.

A second-half goal by Jacob Murrell was disallowed by VAR. The ball struck Murrell’s hand after bouncing off the post and off his waist. Celtic had other opportunities, with Callum McGregor, Kieran Tierney, and Hassan missing targets from inside the box. Bain made a double save from James Forrest and Benjamin Nygren, prompting fans to chant his name.

The result leaves Celtic four points ahead of Rangers at the top of the league, though Celtic has played one more match. Rangers have not yet played their next fixture. Celtic’s next match is upcoming, while Falkirk consolidates their mid-table position.
