Dutch Bros Coffee opened its first store in Columbus on Monday, Nov. 2. The new location is at 5344 W. Broad St. in Prairie Township. It serves coffee, cold brews, teas, smoothies, lemonades, and Rebel energy drinks.
The shop features a drive-thru lane and a walk-up pickup window. Hours run from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the doors stay open until 11 p.m.
Customers received a free keychain with any drink purchase on opening day. The promotion continued while supplies lasted. This offer marked the start of regular service at the West Side site.
The chain traces its roots to 1992 in Grants Pass, Oregon. Brothers Dane and Travis Boersma began selling coffee from a pushcart there. The business has expanded across the country since then. It is known for customizable beverages and high-energy customer service.
The West Broad Street store is part of a larger plan for Central Ohio. Dutch Bros has scheduled additional openings for 5470 N. Hamilton Rd. and 6175 Sawmill Rd. near Dublin. These locations will expand the footprint of the brand in the region.
