Residents of Pickerington will not see Picktown Palooza return to town next summer. The arts and music festival announced last week that it is discontinuing operations after a ten year run. The final event took place from July 9 to 11, 2026, at Pickerington High School Central on 300 Opportunity Way.
The festival began a decade ago as a local initiative. Over the years, it grew into a recurring community gathering. The organizing board made the decision to stop hosting the event shortly after the 2026 season concluded. Organizers did not provide specific reasons for the closure in their public announcement.
Chris Stein, the founder and president of Panger Productions, issued a statement on the event's website. He described the festival's evolution from a simple idea to a major community effort. "Picktown Palooza was never just about the music," Stein said. "It was about bringing people together, creating lasting memories, supporting our community, and building something we could all be proud of."
Stein noted that the team found the past ten years to be incredibly rewarding. He emphasized that the group achieved more than they initially imagined. The festival operated as a nonprofit organization throughout its existence.
During its ten year history, Picktown Palooza raised thousands of dollars for local charities and organizations. These funds supported various community groups in the Pickerington area. The last day of the 2026 festival was July 11.
The festival's website now reflects its status as a completed project. No new dates have been scheduled for 2027 or beyond. The decision marks the end of a decade long cultural tradition in the Pickerington high school district.
